Spent a wonderful day in the White Mountains with
Mooney Mountain Guides , learning the basics of mountaineering in preparation for the
Breast Cancer Fund Climb Against the Odds 2011 in June. We'll climb 14, 179' Mt. Shasta in California in support of the Breast Cancer Fund's work to identify and eradicate environmental causes of breast Cancer.
Along with Beth, Cadie and Juliet, guides Art and Phil, we learned the finer points of climbing in glacier boots and crampons, ice axes, roping up, self-arrest techniques and glissading down the mountain!
